Jammu, 29-10-2024: The office bearers of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by President Sh. Arun Gupta today met Sh. Anshuman Sharma IRS, Director of Income Tax, Intelligence, and Criminal Investigation, Chandigarh at Jammu. While interacting with Sh. Arun Gupta apprised the Director Income Tax that now the times have changed, people are paying income tax honestly, and the priority of the people, including the business community, is ‘NATION FIRST’ i.e why the number of taxpayers is increasing day by day. He also said that there was a time when the Income Tax authorities were off & on visiting the premises of the taxpayers, due to which the taxpayers felt harassed and were penalized even if no tax default was detected. But now the taxpayers are paying their income Tax honestly to reduce their own stress. Though after the COVID-19 period, the collection of Income tax has slowed down but keeping in mind the “NATION FIRST” the taxpayers are moving forward to pay income tax dues honestly.
The Director Income Tax Sh. Anshuman Sharma IRS, Director of Income Tax, Intelligence, and Criminal Investigation, Chandigarh, while reacting, said that we are very much on the job and that we should not visit the premises of the taxpayers unnecessarily instead we motivate them to pay the Income tax honestly. In this regard, we are going to organize an outreach program in the month of November 2024 to educate, guide, and motivate the taxpayers to pay their Income tax honestly.
