New Delhi, Aug. 1: The Central Government has stepped up efforts to protect Indian students and young job seekers from fraudulent overseas recruitment schemes following renewed concerns over illegal agents sending citizens into conflict zones under false employment promises.
Officials said awareness campaigns are being expanded through educational institutions, career counselling centres, and digital platforms to encourage students to verify overseas job opportunities through authorised channels before accepting offers.
Authorities have advised educational institutions to sensitise final-year students and graduates about common recruitment scams, fake visa promises, and misleading advertisements circulated through social media and unauthorised agencies.
The Ministry of External Affairs has reiterated that Indian nationals should exercise extreme caution before accepting employment in countries facing armed conflict. Students planning higher education or international careers have also been urged to consult official government advisories and verify employers through recognised agencies.
Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate recruitment networks allegedly involved in trafficking individuals with false promises of lucrative overseas jobs. Officials said stricter monitoring and coordination between central and state agencies are underway to curb such illegal operations.
Education experts believe awareness initiatives at colleges and universities can significantly reduce the risk of young people falling victim to international employment fraud while promoting informed career decisions for those seeking opportunities abroad.
