Complaint Filed Against Harsh Dev Singh for Allegedly Filing False Affidavit with Nomination Papers

Jammu, October 21, 2025: President of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (Bhim), Advocate Vilakshan Singh, has lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu & Kashmir, against Harsh Dev Singh, a candidate contesting from 77-Nagrota Constituency, for allegedly concealing material facts in his election affidavit (Form 26) submitted along with his nomination papers.

In his complaint, Vilakshan Singh stated that FIR No. 0059 of 2024 dated 16.02.2024 stands registered against Harsh Dev Singh at Police Station Nagrota for offences under Sections 143, 147, 149, 500, 504, 506, 109, and 34 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC). The said candidate is reportedly listed as Accused No. 5 in the said FIR.

The complaint alleges that despite being aware of this pending case, Harsh Dev Singh did not disclose the FIR details in his affidavit, thereby violating the mandatory provisions of law governing the filing of truthful declarations by candidates during elections.

Vilakshan Singh has urged the Chief Electoral Officer and the Returning Officer for 77- Nagrota constituency to reject the nomination papers of Harsh Dev Singh for filing a false affidavit and to initiate appropriate legal proceedings against him for misleading the Election Commission and the electorate.
