Jammu, 12-01-2024 : In a proactive initiative aimed at addressing critical concerns impacting the industrial sector, Archit Puri, Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jammu and Kashmir Council, led a delegation to meet Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary of the Union Territory. The primary focus of the meeting was to deliberate on pressing issues related to the distribution of incentives for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) unit holders.
During the discussions, the delegation emphasized several key points, including the need for prompt disbursement of incentives to support J&K business owners, the extension of provisional registration to industrial units under the New Policy, challenges faced by industries concerning court fees/stamp duty as per SRO 241 on collateral provided to banks by industrial units, delayed SGST claims, and the removal of Mustard oil from the Negative List.
Archit Puri expressed the delegation’s sincere desire to facilitate and support business owners while fostering a conducive business environment for industries to flourish and grow. He underscored the challenges confronted by the business community in J&K, particularly in the wake of economic disruptions caused by the global pandemic.
Highlighting the pivotal role of the industrial sector in the economic development of the region, Puri stated, “By advocating for the disbursement of incentives for J&K unit holders and the extension of provisional registration to industrial units under the New Policy, we aim to provide a much-needed breathing space for businesses to recover and align with national economic and regulatory requirements.”
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo assured the delegation that the Government of J&K is committed to collaborating with the local business community. He gave assurance that all genuine concerns raised by the delegation would be promptly addressed to facilitate a conducive business environment.
The delegation included prominent members like Ravnish Gulati (Proprietor, Lal Chand Roshan Lal Agro Mills), Waseem Trumboo (Executive Director, Trumboo Industries), Farooq Amin (Director, Kanwal Foods), Nukul Mehra (Director, Naturis Cosmetics), and Khurshid Dar (Head, CII J&K).
