Jammu, 20 November 2025:Congress leaders are now openly mocking their own century-old party along with the residents of J&K, said Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP, stating that the Congress leadership has become completely disconnected from grassroots realities and even basic historical facts.
Reacting to the remarks of AICC General Secretary and Incharge J&K Affairs Dr. Sayeed Naseer Hussain, Dr. Pardeep said that Congress leaders have always considered themselves “above facts,” and this arrogance has pushed the party into political irrelevance. He said that while the senior leader appears clueless about J&K’s socio-political realities, the local Congress leadership too has failed to brief him on the transformative changes and positive developments that have benefitted long-neglected communities of Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr. Pardeep reminded the Congress leadership that before the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, successive Congress governments at the Centre and NC-PDP regimes in J&K ensured that several major communities were denied even basic dignity and rights.
He reminded the Congress leadership that one may obtain permanent residency within a decade even in a foreign country, the sizable population of Jammu & Kashmir suffered due to the lack of citizenship rights even after seven decades. There was a whole list of draconian discriminations with a number of communities like West Pakistan Refugees, PoJK displaced families, Valmikis, STs, women etc.
“Ask a family that has served the state for three generations but is still denied basic rights, what greater injustice can there be?”, he said to Congress leadership.
On security, pointing out stark contrast between the Congress era and the last decade under the Modi government, Dr. Pardeep said that between 2004 and 2014, there were 7,217 terrorist incidents, but from 2014 to 2024, this number dropped to 2,242. During this period, total deaths decreased by 70%, civilian deaths decreased by 81%, and casualties among security personnel decreased by 50%.
In Jammu & Kashmir, the stone-pelting incidents and the pellet gun are now part of history. After 2019, Jammu & Kashmir started regaining the lost attraction of tourists, successful conduct of global summits, mega sports events etc. The infrastructure development pace increased manifolds, with visible differences in the road network, including increase in width, bridges, tunnels, expressways, he added.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra also pointed out that before 2019, the Indian Constitution, which is always flaunted by the Congress leaders, was not implemented in full in J&K, thus thereby restricting the benefits of numerous public welfare schemes to the targeted neglected populations. So, does the Congress really respect the Constitution, asked Dr. Pardeep.
