Budgam, May 13: BJP MP Rajya Sabha Er. Gulam Ali Khatana said that traditional parties in Jammu and Kashmir including Cong, NC, PDP exploited the people in the name of region, religion and sects for political and pecuniary gains. He said that terrorism was creation of local parties in cahoots with the enemy nation.
Addressing a massive gathering at village Reyar during his two days tour of district Budgam, Er. Gulam Ali said that BJP is committed to restore peace and speed up developmental programmes in J&K especially the tourism, horticulture, agriculture, power and pilgrim tourism sectors. He said that govt. has been trying to serve the unserved areas and reach out to the poorest among the poors.
A large number of prominent citizens, leaders and PRI members joined BJP in the presence of MP Gulam including Sarpanches Nazir Ahmed Dinda, Reyar, Neer Ahmed, Mujhpathri, Numberdar Javaid, Kashwari, Syed Sarwar, Rehar Beerwa, Sarpanch Taslima Bano, Chak Sera, Abdul Rashid and others
The programme was organized by Mushtaq Budgami and Yasir Choudhary. Others present were BJP Budgam president Sameer AHmed Shah, Prabhari Mir Ali, Roshan Choudhary, Mohd. Maqbool and Adil.
MP Gulam Ali lamented that district Budgam remained neglected and under-developed during the previous regimes and still lot needs to be done for the welfare of people of the area. He said that during his stay here people have come up with number of problems. He told that during his visit to District Hospital Budgam to take appraisal of the healthcare facilities, people complained of no oxygen plant, no component facilities in blood bank, people demanded early start of Budgam district hospital at newly demarcated land which was early running from sub district hospital and demanded staff rationalisation in Health dept.as serious shortage of staff is impacting the health facilities to the common people. During visit to Khan sahib SDH and Doodhpathri hospital people complained of absence of doctors and para-medical staff.
MP Gulam Ali said that people of district Budgam are also complaining about the lackadaisical approach of the Tourism officer and CEO Doodhpathri for under-development of the torurism potential of the area. He strtessed the need for development of community tourism instead of commercial tourism in the area. People also listed their demands including providing of liveable infrastructure to dhok dwellers, Moder village status to tribal villages Rehari, ReyarChak and Beeru, road from Branwar to Yusmarg, pony licences to residents of Doodhpathri.
A number of delegations also called on MP Gulam Ali at Dak Bungalow Budgam.
A delegation of Bemina Development and Welfare Forum (BDWF) led by its chairman Syed Ali Safvi called on Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana and apprised him of various problems facing Bemina Khomeini Chowk area.
The delegation also handed over eight-point memorandum of demands to the MP. The demands include mecadamisation of Bemina-Budgam road via Khomeini Chowk, demarcation of land identified for higher secondary school Bemina, setting up of fire and emergency service station in the area, improvement of HT/LT lines, improvement of facilities at PHC Bemina, construction of community hall, recreation park and a playfield, segregation of power feeder for Khomeini Chowk from Rakh Arath receiving station.
Another delegation of Budgam Development Forum led by Mohd. Ali Bhat also called on MP Gulam Ali and listed demands.
The Member Parliament gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation of the early redressal of all the issues.
