SUCHETGARH, Nov 26: In a resounding affirmation of the Congress party’s enduring appeal, hundreds of former members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other parties have joined the ranks of the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, signaling a growing rejection of the current administration’s dismal performance.

Addressing a gathering of new Congress members during the joining programmes, JKPCC General Secretary and DDC member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony, underscored the party’s unwavering commitment to alleviating the people’s deep-seated grievances.

Tony criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its unfulfilled promises, stating that these have caused widespread disappointment among the public. He pointed out that the increasing inclination of people towards the Congress party is a direct result of the BJP’s failures.

He highlighted the BJP’s apprehension in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging their reluctance to hold Assembly elections due to fear of losing to Congress and its allied parties. He emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would not tolerate this and that the Congress party is exerting pressure for early elections to establish a democratically elected government.

He lamented the pervasive suffering that has engulfed every section of society under the current regime, emphasizing the Congress’s position as the sole alternative to this cycle of hardship. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have now fully recognized the Congress as the only force capable of liberating them from the miseries inflicted upon them by the incumbent government,” Tony declared.

The senior Congress leader attributed the resigning from parties like the BJP to the Congress’s unwavering commitment to social justice, equality, and economic development – values that align deeply with the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly awaiting an opportunity to give befitting reply to the BJP’s misrule in the upcoming elections,” Tony proclaimed.

Earlier, a joining program was organized at Chak Shia under the supervision of social worker Rajkumar. The event was graced by the presence of Taranjeet Singh Tony.

On this occasion, influenced by the policies of the Congress party, several individuals joined the party fold. These new members, including local resident Rajkumar, retired Captain Hansraj, Sunny Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Happy Kumar, Nikku Singh, Kannu Kumar, Sarbjeet Singh, Vijay Kumar, Kewal Krishna, and Ramesh Lal and they were warmly welcomed by Tony.

Tony urged the new members to actively promote the Congress party’s policies and to spread awareness at the grassroots level to strengthen the party’s position. The event saw significant participation from the residents of various villages.
