16-05-2023 : According to Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president, Vikar Rasool Wani, Congress’ landslide victory in Karnataka is not just a political triumph but also a victory of unity and brotherhood over the hate and divisive politics of BJP. Wani asserted that the nation is yearning for a change and BJP’s malicious propaganda will not be able to save them from subsequent defeats in other states and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Wani said that the Congress party’s pro-people policies have earned people’s trust and confidence, ensuring safety, equal treatment, and justice to all. He condemned BJP’s conspiracies aimed at dividing people along religious, caste, or regional lines, and emphasized that the Congress party and the people of the country will continue to work harder to defeat such tactics.
Regarding local issues, Wani promised that the Congress will restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir once it comes to power at the Centre. He further added that Congress will fight for the prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In the recent assembly elections, the Congress party secured a sweeping victory with 135 seats, while the BJP and the Janata Dal (Secular) led by former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, secured 66 and 19 seats respectively. The result of this election has been interpreted as a significant victory for the Congress party over the BJP, which has been accused of pursuing a divisive and sectarian agenda.
