UP, Oct 27 : As the nation celebrates the auspicious festival of Chhath Puja, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday extended his warm wishes to citizens, highlighting the festival’s deep connection to nature, faith, and devotion.
Taking to social media platform X, Kharge wrote, “Heartfelt greetings to all on the great festival of Chhath, dedicated to the importance of nature and devotion, emphasizing the values of faith, dedication, belief, and new creation, and the worship of Lord Sun, the source of energy.”
He reflected on a distinctive aspect of India’s civilizational ethos equal reverence for both the rising and setting sun calling it a profound expression of how closely nature is intertwined with Indian culture.
“Our great civilization accords equal reverence and respect to both the setting and rising sun, which demonstrates how deeply and extensively nature is embedded in our Indian way of life,” Kharge said.
Praying for the well being and prosperity of citizens, he added, “May this sacred occasion infuse new energy, enthusiasm, and boundless joy into everyone’s life.”
Chhath Puja, one of the most revered festivals in India, celebrates the Sun God (Surya Dev) and Chhathi Maiya, with devotees observing rituals, offering prayers, and expressing gratitude for life, energy, and sustenance.
