Congress will bring justice and opportunity to Haryana after BJP’s decade of failure, says Priyanka Gandhi

Ambala, Sep 30: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra delivered a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, accusing it of betraying the people of Haryana throughout its decade-long rule. Speaking at a public rally in Naraingarh’s HUDA Ground, she said the citizens of Haryana had already made up their minds to oust the BJP in the upcoming elections and elect the Congress instead.

Gandhi Vadra remarked that despite the BJP’s repeated lofty promises, it had failed to deliver on any of them during its 10 years in power. “Once again, BJP leaders are making new promises ahead of elections. The critical question is, why did they fail to fulfill these promises when they had the power to do so? Why were the voices of farmers, women, youth, and wrestlers ignored?” she asked.

She emphasized the growing support for Congress, pointing to an electoral wave that she said would safeguard the dignity and self-respect of voters. Urging citizens to cast their votes wisely, Priyanka warned against divisive politics. “If you let yourselves be swayed by outside influences, you will lose your respect. The Constitution has given you the power to vote—use it wisely. Congress is coming, and BJP is on its way out,” she asserted.

Gandhi Vadra also accused the BJP of failing to recognize the sacrifices of Haryana’s citizens, particularly those serving in the armed forces. “Haryana’s children protect our nation on the borders, ready to give their lives for the country. And in return for this loyalty, the state has received nothing but humiliation in the last decade. Farmers have been attacked with lathis and tear gas, and the youth have been pushed into unemployment,” she charged.

She further addressed the protest by women wrestlers over allegations of sexual harassment, criticizing Prime Minister Modi for his inaction. “Our athletes train hard, win Olympic medals, and bring pride to the country. Yet, when women wrestlers protested in Delhi, the Prime Minister did not even bother to meet them, nor did he inquire how the government could assist them,” she said.

Highlighting Congress’s commitment to justice, Priyanka reminded the crowd that the Bhagavad Gita, a symbol of justice, was preached on Haryana’s soil. “This land gave birth to the message of justice, which shaped our religion, our nation, and our Constitution. Only the Congress can deliver that justice to the people,” she concluded.
