Conspiracy to divert attention from core issues through Toll Plaza controversy: Shiv Sena

JAMMU,23-08-2023 :  The stubborn and dictatorial stand of the government on the demand to remove the toll plaza at Saror on the NH-4 national highway is visible as a well-planned conspiracy to divert attention from the main issues, said by  Shiv Sena (UBT) state chief Manish Sahni.

Expressing his concerns, Sahni stated that there seems to be a sinister plot to divert public attention from the core issues such as smart prepaid meters, property tax, rising addiction rates, inflation, and unemployment, by focusing on the toll plaza matter.
He further stressed that since the construction of the National Highway-44 Lakhanpur to Jammu road is pending, and public facilities are lacking, toll collection should be halted. In line with this demand, the youth leaders of the Yuva Rajput Sabha were peacefully protesting. However, the decision to use police force to suppress the protests and detain the leaders has only fueled the fire, he said.
Sahni highlighted that the administration’s arbitrary actions and authoritarianism are escalating. The burden on the public, struggling with economic hardships, is continuously increasing. He mentioned that the public eagerly awaiting elections in J&K, aiming to teach a lesson to those who betrayed their trust.
Sahni appealed to the public to support the state-wide movement for toll-free Jammu and Kashmir, free electricity and water, and the rollback of property tax. He urged the citizens to unite for this cause.
