New Delhi, Sept. 15: Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has inaugurated 22 new healthcare facilities in Andhra Pradesh, comprising 10 Critical Care Blocks and 12 Integrated Public Health Laboratories, in a move aimed at strengthening emergency care and diagnostic services across the state.
The new facilities are expected to improve access to critical medical services while enhancing the capacity of the public healthcare system to respond to emergencies and disease outbreaks. The Integrated Public Health Laboratories will also support faster and more accessible diagnostic services.
The expansion comes as governments across the country continue to focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure beyond major urban centres. Critical Care Blocks can play an important role in ensuring that patients requiring urgent and specialised treatment have access to appropriate facilities closer to their homes.
The public health laboratories are expected to complement this infrastructure by improving testing and disease surveillance capabilities. Stronger laboratory networks are particularly important for early detection of infectious diseases and timely public health interventions.
The inauguration reflects the broader emphasis on building resilient healthcare systems with stronger emergency preparedness, diagnostic capacity and access to essential medical services.
