16-06-2023 : The revered Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, is set to embark on a visit to the Union Territory of Ladakh from July 10. This significant announcement was made during a press conference held by the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) president, Thupstan Chhewang, and the Ladakh Gompa Association (LGA).
The Dalai Lama’s visit will span over a month, beginning with three days of rest at Photang, followed by a visit to Chowkhang. One of the highlights of his visit will be the delivery of sermons to the gathering at Choglamsar from July 21 to 23. Additionally, he will grace the Ladakh Lamdon Yarchose Chenmo (Lamdon golden jubilee celebrations) at Lamdon School Leh during the first week of August.
The Ladakh Buddhist Association received communication regarding the Dalai Lama’s visit from the Tibetan spiritual leader’s headquarters in Dharamshala. It is expected that he will stay in Ladakh until either August 20 or 25, depending on his other commitments.
The specific schedule of the Dalai Lama’s visit, including the locations he will visit within Ladakh, will be determined in consultation with him and his staff upon his arrival in Leh.
