DC Jammu assures timely completion of Indri-Pargwal Bridge, Chenab channelisation

JAMMU, AUGUST 12: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas today chaired a Block Diwas meeting at Indri, Block Pargwal, wherein he interacted with the locals and redressed a wide range of public grievances on the spot.

Member Legislative Assembly Akhnoor Mohan Lal Bhagat was the special guest on the occasion.

The locals, including public representatives participated in the programme and apprised the DC of the issues confronting the block. Prominent among the demands raised included channelisation of the Chenab to check erosion and flooding, early completion of the incomplete GDC Jourian building, construction of an indoor stadium at Indri, staff requirement at the local Community Health Centre for its normal functioning and repair and restoration of the Palanwala-Jourian road.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the grievances and developmental demands put forth by the public and directed the concerned officers to take up the issues on priority. He assured the gathering that the Indri-Pargwal Bridge shall be completed by the end of the current year, while a comprehensive plan would be formulated for channelisation of the Chenab.

With regard to the GDC Jourian building, the DC directed the PWD to complete the pending civil works within a definite timeline. The Incharge BMO was directed to take up the matter of staff availability at CHC with the DC office to ensure smooth functioning of the health facility.

Those present on the occasion included ADDC Sher Singh, Chief Planning Officer Ajaypal Singh, SDM Khour Satish Sharma, BDO Naveel Hamdani, Tehsildar Manjeet Singh, besides officers from various line departments and other concerned officials.
