DC Jammu listens to public grievances at Sumah Panchayat of Akhnoor

Weekly Block Diwas

JAMMU, AUGUST 25:  Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg today listened to the people’s issues here at Panchayat Sumah of Block Akhnoor at the Weekly Block Diwas meeting. Several delegations of adjoining Panchayats, besides scores of individuals, apprised him about the problems faced by them in day-to-day life.

The PRI members one by one highlighted the issues regarding their respective Panchayats which were mainly related to water and electricity supply scenario, Revenue, land compensation, ration card, PMAY, Road connectivity, mining, installation of hand pumps, health centres, school education etc.

The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the PRI members, delegations, and individuals and passed on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for early redress of their genuine grievances. He assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities besides all the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Weekly Block Diwas aims to get firsthand information regarding the issues/problems being faced by the people.

The Deputy Commissioner also impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets and improve the services delivery to benefit rural masses. He said that the motive of this public outreach program was to reach out to the people and understand their problems.

DDC Member Sharda Bhau; BDC Member Kiran Pawar’ ADC Satish Sharma; ACD  Ashok Choudhary; SDM R.S Pura Chand Kishore Sharma; CMO JP Singh; DSWO Ajay Salan along with PRI members and other officers of the line department and a large number of people were present at the program.
