08-01-2021 : With am aim to review the progress of work on 1000 MW Pakkal Dul Hydro Electric Power project and to redress the grievances of the people of project effected areas and workers working at the dam site, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today inspected the prestigious 1000 MW Hydroelectric Power Project at Dangduran Kishtwar.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar, CGM CVPP P. B Jain,Xen Marwah Mohd Aslam Lone, NT Dachhan Bashir Ahmed besides officers of JP Company among others.
During the inspection of work, Deputy Commissioner directed the COP Jai Prakash Associates Ltd to expedite the pace of work in order to ensure the timely completion of the project.
He also interacted with project affected families. During the interaction, he gave patient hearing to various demands and issues of the people like the early release of the lease rent, payment of pending compensation of fruit and non-fruit-bearing plants, the inclusion of the left-out families in RR plan, delayed payments of compensation to cracked house owners near the project, employment of locals among others. After listening to their issues DC assured them that their genuine issues/grievances shall be redressed in a time-bound manner.
He further directed Tehsildar Dachhan to evacuate the illegally raised temporary sheds and wooden stocks on acquired land at the right bank of the river at Dangduru.
CGM CVPP was also asked to place indent for the acquisition of an additional 23 Kanal land at khraipaknu so that the land could be acquired immediately for smooth completion of the project.
To redress the grievances of workers DC informed that the regular monthly meeting of a committee which include the Concerned collector, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar and Dy.SP Headquarters Kishtwar shall be held at the project site.
On the issue of the recruitment of the local youths in the HEP, DC said that a committee to conduct recruitment transparently shall be constituted soon and entire recruitment processes shall be monitored by himself.
He further asked the people of the Danduroo and PAFs to apprise him regularly about any grievances related to water, electricity, health and education, infrastructure etc from time to time.
Moreover, NT Dachhan was instructed to identify the land for the new graveyard for the rehabilitated residents of Soarbati on immediate basis.
