DDC elections: 168 polling staff airlifted to Warwan

KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 22: A group of 168 polling staff along with the election material and other logistics was today airlifted to the snow-bound Marwah region ahead of the District Development Council elections and Panchayat By-polls there.

Earlier, the other day, 39 polling parties were inducted to Marwah. The polling for the DDC constituencies and Panchayat By-Elections to fill vacant Sarpanch and Panch seats in the twin blocks is going to be held on Nov 28, 2020, amid tight security.

 “Given the tough geographical terrain and covid threat all arrangements and precautions have been made for the poll parties,” said the District Panchayat Election Officer.

 Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Amir Hussain, who supervised the induction of poll staff, said that the polling staff is being airlifted to transit camps established at Marwah and Warwan headquarter from where from they would be sent to their respective polling booths. He further said that adequate boarding and lodging arrangements have been made for the poll parties at the transit camps.

 BDO Nagseni Abhay Indu Sharma along with Naib Tehsildar Irshad Khandey were also present on the occasion.
