Leh, November 28: A delegation from Darchik-Garkon, led by Nominated Councillor Rigzen Gurmet, today called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, to flag several pressing developmental and administrative concerns affecting their region.
Councillor Gurmet highlighted the urgent interventions in the Darchik–Garkon belt, which forms one of the most culturally significant and geographically sensitive areas of Ladakh. He stressed that residents of the Aryan Valley continue to face hardships, and sought targeted interventions for their welfare.
Giving a patient hearing to the delegation, Lt Governor Kavinder Gupta reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to ensuring balanced and inclusive development across Ladakh. He said the UT Administration remains focused on bridging regional disparities and delivering time-bound solutions to long-pending local issues. He also assured that departments concerned would be directed to take up the flagged matters on priority.
Underscoring the need for transparent, responsive and people-centric governance, the Lieutenant Governor reiterated that every community in Ladakh—especially those residing in remote and culturally distinct pockets—will receive due attention in the Administration’s development roadmap. He emphasised that the unique cultural legacy of the Aryan Valley is an invaluable part of Ladakh’s identity and assured full support for its preservation alongside economic upliftment.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the LG for his assurance and for the Administration’s continued engagement with grassroots stakeholders to address region-specific challenges.
