Delhi Airport Alerts Passengers as Indigo Cancels 225 Flights Amid Operational Disruptions

Passengers urged to check flight status as DGCA reviews IndiGo operations; disruptions expected until February 2026

New Delhi, Dec 5: Delhi Airport on Friday issued a passenger advisory following widespread operational disruptions affecting domestic flights, with over 225 IndiGo flights cancelled since the morning. Travellers are being advised to verify flight statuses directly with airlines to avoid inconvenience.

In its advisory, Delhi Airport stated, “Operational challenges affecting certain domestic services are resulting in flight delays and cancellations. Passengers are strongly recommended to check their flight status prior to departure. Our on-ground teams are working closely with all partners to mitigate disruptions and ensure a comfortable passenger experience.”

The airport confirmed that IndiGo has been facing a sharp rise in cancellations, with daily flight disruptions reaching 170–200 flights. Affected routes include major domestic hubs, impacting thousands of passengers.

The airline has sought temporary operational exemptions from specific Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) provisions for its A320 fleet until February 10, 2026. The DGCA, following a detailed review with IndiGo’s senior leadership, stated, “IndiGo has assured that corrective measures are underway and that normalised operations will be fully restored by February 10, 2026.”

Passengers are advised to regularly check flight status updates and plan accordingly. Delhi Airport and IndiGo continue to coordinate closely to manage disruptions while maintaining safety standards.
