New Delhi, Nov 17 : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has widened its probe into the Delhi Red Fort blast case to West Bengal, interrogating a key suspect, Sabir Ahmed, who is currently held in Kolkata’s Presidency Jail. Sabir, a resident of Palashipara in Nadia district, is being questioned repeatedly to uncover connections to the broader terror network. His brother, Faisal Ahmed, had earlier been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF).
In a significant development, the NIA also made its first arrest in the case, detaining Kashmiri resident Amir Rashid Ali in Delhi. The car used in the Red Fort attack was registered in his name. Ali is scheduled to be produced before a Delhi court.
Meanwhile, in the Faridabad terror module case, the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has summoned Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, chairman of Al Falah University, following two FIRs registered against the institution for alleged forgery and cheating.
