Jammu Exporters Receive Valuable Guidance on Export Policies and Social Media Growth

Jammu, October 12, 2023: The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC India) collaborated to host an informative session for exporters in Jammu. The session aimed to provide valuable insights into the new trade policy of exports and offer support to businesses seeking to benefit from the DGFT and EEPC India.

During the session, Shri. A.K Bhushan, Assistant DGFT, assured attendees that his team is always available to provide support and assistance. He encouraged participants to approach their office directly for any issues or queries related to scheme applications. Ms. Anju from DGFT made a brief presentation on the services of DGFT during the session. She emphasized the importance of the IEC code and demonstrated how it can be applied on the DGFT website. She assured the members that anyone can call her if they encounter any difficulties while applying for the IEC code and other schemes of DGFT.

Shri. Gaurav Gupta, Assistant Director of EEPC India, shed light on how the organization can contribute to the promotion of exports from the state, both for individual businesses and institutions. He provided an overview of the policies implemented by EEPC India and emphasized the support they can offer through various schemes of the Government of India. Sh. Lalit Mahajan, Convener of EEPC Jammu, urged all departments to introduce new incentive schemes for local industrialists to foster trade within the state.

Additionally, Shri. Sahil Mahajan, Director of Soft Built Solutions, delivered a brief presentation on leveraging social media and e-commerce platforms to enhance business growth. He demonstrated various tools and techniques through a live demo, ensuring attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

Sh. Jugal Kishore Sharma, a Member of Parliament, attended the session as the Chief Guest and interacted with the participants. He also highlighted various Government of India schemes that could aid industrialists in expanding their businesses. He assured all his support to industrial associations for any initiatives through the Government of India.

Sh. Devender Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME, shared a brief note on the various schemes of the Ministry of Small Scale and Medium Enterprises. He provided detailed information through a presentation and informed industrialists that they could visit their offices for assistance in expanding or setting up their businesses.

The session proved to be a valuable platform for businesses and institutions to gain insights, seek support, and explore opportunities for growth in the export sector. The collaborative efforts of the DGFT and EEPC India showcased their commitment to fostering a conducive environment for trade and promoting economic development. Businessmen from various industrialist associations in Jammu and other sectors were also present for the session.
