KATHUA, Nov 6: A team from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) today conducted a raid and survey at the residence of former minister Babu Singh in Kathua.
According to sources, the operation was launched early in the morning and continued for several hours. Officials reportedly examined financial documents and other records as part of an ongoing investigation related to alleged tax irregularities.
While officials have yet to issue an official statement regarding the purpose and outcome of the raid, local sources said DGGI teams were accompanied by police personnel to ensure security during the search.
Babu Singh, a former minister in the Jammu and Kashmir government, has not commented on the matter so far. The DGGI operation is believed to be part of a wider crackdown on suspected cases of financial misconduct and tax evasion across the region.
