DGP Dilbag Singh Stresses Synergy Among Security Agencies for VVIP Safety in Kashmir

09-10-2023: Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, conducted a thorough review of security preparations in anticipation of President Droupadi Murmu’s forthcoming visit to Kashmir. President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Srinagar on October 11th and serve as the chief guest during the 20th convocation at the University of Kashmir’s main campus.

To ensure the safety of the visiting President, DGP Singh presided over a joint meeting at the Police Control Room Kashmir. This meeting involved senior officers from the Police, CRPF, Army, and Intelligence agencies. The primary focus was to discuss and finalize security arrangements for President Murmu’s visit, encompassing details such as deployment along her route and at the event venues.

The meeting also addressed the coordination of personnel from various security forces and intelligence agencies. DGP Singh stressed the importance of seamless collaboration among these entities to safeguard the VVIP. He emphasized the need for comprehensive briefings to be provided to all deployed personnel and highlighted the significance of patrolling and night-time security operations.

Maintaining a high level of alertness was a top priority, and DGP Singh recommended implementing a system of random checkpoints (nakas) and joint patrolling to monitor the movements of anti-national elements, particularly along inter-district routes and the outskirts of Srinagar city. He urged officers to remain vigilant and encouraged intelligence agencies to share real-time information.

DGP Singh also underscored the importance of resource optimization and the utilization of technology and security equipment, including CCTV cameras, in the deployment plan. He insisted on establishing a robust communication network to facilitate coordination among the various agencies involved in security arrangements.

During the meeting, officers provided detailed briefings on the security measures in place within their respective jurisdictional areas, ensuring that all aspects of the VVIP visit were comprehensively addressed.
