Varanasi, Sep 14: Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri on Saturday visited the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple and performed Jalabhishek (holy water ritual) of Baba Vishwanath, after which he announced a padyatra aimed at promoting the vision of a Hindu Rashtra in India.
Following his temple visit, Shastri proceeded to Satua Baba Ashram at Manikarnika Ghat and addressed the media, stating, “The padyatra will be organized from November 7 to November 16, starting from Delhi and concluding in Vrindavan. Its goal is to promote social harmony and declare India as a Hindu nation.”
Shastri emphasized that world peace can be achieved through the promotion of Sanatan Dharma. He cautioned that India must embrace its Hindu identity to prevent situations similar to those in Nepal and Bangladesh. He also suggested that Nepal should be declared a Hindu nation under a monarchy.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts, Shastri praised him for promoting Sanatani traditions. He added that Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the Ram temple in Ayodhya serve as central hubs of Hindu faith.
Shastri called on citizens, especially Hindus, to awaken to the ideals of Sanatan Dharma. “Prime Minister Modi has set the country on a path of development, focusing on sports, social welfare, economic growth, and the promotion of Sanatan Dharma,” he said.
The padyatra is expected to draw participation from devotees and followers across the country, aiming to combine spiritual outreach with the call for ideological revival.
