District Information Centre(DIC) Ganderbal organizes ‘Drug Free Kashmir’ seminar

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 20: District Information Centre (DIC) Ganderbal in collaboration with Global White and Hope Disability Centre NGOs organized one-day Seminar on Drug-Free Kashmir at R.P School Nagpal.

The program was attended by District Development Commissioner Ganderbal,   Shafqat Iqbal who was also Chief Guest on the occasion.

Among others, the event was attended by the SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, SSP Security Nighat Aman, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, Tabasum Wani,  DIO Ganderbal, Riyaz Ahmad Fazili, Chairman R.P ground of Schools, Shabir Hussain, representatives from NGOs besides students of the school.

The main aim of the Seminar was to create awareness among the students and people about drug addiction with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace from Kashmir.

On the occasion, theme-based drama was presented by the renowned artists besides a skit was performed by the students of R.P School emphasized the methods of drug de-addiction.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that it is a collective responsibility of all stakeholders to fight against the drug menace and guide the potential of our young generation toward constructive purpose.

He said District Administration will utilize every resource to make district Ganderbal free from the drug menace and support to all such organizations and NGOs who are at the forefront to fight against drugs.

He also stressed on organizing more awareness programmes so that the menace is completely eradicated from society. He said that general people should be made aware of the fact that drug usage is banned by the law, negated by society and religion too.

SSP Ganderbal, SSP Security, Secretary DLSA, Ganderbal Chairman R.P School, and other speakers highlighted various hazards of the drug use and emphasized the need of creating awareness amongst students and society regarding the adverse impact of drugs.

Later felicitation ceremony was also organized in which participants were given participation certificates.
