20th of May 2023: To walk down memory lane and relive those golden college days. Dogra Law College organized its Alumni Meet – EK MULAQUAT in College Auditorium. Most of the Alumni were visiting their Alma Mater and naturally were thrilled to be back on campus. The objective of the event was to engage with Alumni and reconnect them with their friends, seniors, juniors, mentors, and faculty members.
The event began with an introduction by Humera Firdous, a penultimate year student of BA.LLB, followed by the presentation of sapling by Prof. Darshana, Director, DGC & CD to Th. Gulchain Singh Charak Ji, Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust, and the lighting of traditional lamps by the dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak Ji, former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust and chief guest of the event said, “We at Dogra Law College are keen to provide all of our past students a platform to stay in touch amongst them and also stay committed to the institute and students across different batches including the current batches.” He congratulated and blessed the Alumni for their accomplishments and wishes them luck for all their future endeavors.
Prof. V.P. Magotra, Principal, Dogra Law College in his welcome address applauded the achievements of the Alumni in different spheres of life and updated the Alumni about new initiatives taken up in college since the college as established and shared that it was a matter of great pride for the DLC that its Alumni had turned upon campus in great numbers to be with their Alma Mater despite their busy schedule as many of them hold positions of responsibility in various Government and Private organizations.
The Alumni who shared their experiences on the occasion were Adv. Vinod Saini, President DLC Alumni, Adv. Sachin Dev, Vice President DLC Alumni, Adv. Rohit Sharma, President Young Lawyer Association, Adv. Geetanjali Bhagat and Alisha Bhagat POs J&K HC and many others thanked the faculty and family of Dogra law college for organizing the Alumni Meet. The Alumni who were not present in the event due to their official commitment marked their valuable presence by sending their experience and love for the family of Dogra Law College via video messages and clips. The flashback reels of the Alumni were also played during the event.
Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust in his address appreciated the team of Dogra Law College for the success of “Ek Mulaquat” – The Alumni Meet- 2023 and further said that the Alumni Meet is a perfect platform to revive the contacts with teachers, mentors, and peers. He expressed his happiness that most of the Alumni of Dogra Law College have been rendering their best services in different spheres like – judiciary, and public administration as prosecution officers, standing and in-house counsels in state government and its allied departments, and as academicians, which is highly appreciable and have brought laurels to the family of Dogra Law College.
Around 40 Alumni across various batches participated in the “Ek Mulaquat” – The Alumni Meet -2023 and promised to provide immense support towards the institute through regular webinars, seminars, placement opportunities, guidance, and motivation.
The event was full of fun and entertainment with power-packed performances by students of Dogra Law College who enthralled the audience with their Dogri, Punjabi, and fusion dance performances and other entertaining activities. In all, the ambience was electric with people seen interacting and clicking pictures with each other.
A vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Shuchi Sharma, Senior Faculty Member, at Dogra Law College. The function finally winded up with the playing of the National Anthem followed by a group photograph and lunch.
