DOMA Confederation Holds National Chintan Shivir in Srinagar to Save Constitution, Democracy and Fundamental Rights

Dr. Udit Raj Calls for Grassroots Unity to Protect Constitution and Democratic Rights
  • DOMA J&K Raises FRA, OBC Reservation and Minority Rights Issues at National ShivirSrinagar, 20th June 2026: The Confederation of Dalit, OBC, Minority & Adivasi Organisations (DOMA) organised a one-day National Chintan Shivir at Srinagar today on the theme _“Save Constitution, Democracy and Fundamental Rights”_.

    A large number of delegates from various states of the country and districts of Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu divisions participated. As a social collective, DOMA Confederation is mobilising these groups under one banner to safeguard the Constitution.

    Dr. Udit Raj, National Chairman, DOMA Confederation, presided over the full-day Shivir. In his address, he exhorted the participants to work with sincerity and dedication to gain the confidence of the suffering masses. He stressed the need to reach out to people at the grassroots and unite them for protecting the Constitution and democracy. He further called upon the cadre to work in tandem, stating that unity of cadre becomes a force to reckon with at the time of recruitment and policy decisions.

    Delegates from Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and other states attended the Shivir and made valuable contributions.

    R.K. Kalsotra, State President, DOMA Confederation J&K, exhorted the cadre to remain united for saving the Constitution, fundamental rights, and democracy. He said the idea of holding the Chintan Shivir was conceived by the J&K State Unit and has now been successfully implemented. He stated that issues of Dalits, OBCs, Minorities, and Adivasis—including Forest Rights Act implementation, OBC reservation, protection of religious rights of minorities, and problems of inter-district employees—are well within the knowledge of the Confederation. He urged participants to remain vigilant and united for resolution of these issues.

    Other delegates resolved to hold similar Chintan Shivirs in their respective states in the coming months before the proposed National Rally at Delhi. Later, delegates also visited the Buddhist site at Parihaspora, District Baramulla.

    Prominent speakers included K. Maheshwar Raj, Dr. K. Karpuraiha, Ramakrishna K., Gagan Ananth, Babu Singh, Kiran Jit Gehri, Sunil Zode, Aatish Sansi, Sonam Stobdan, Mahavir Singh, Er. Arif Irfan Ch., Dr. R.K. Kaith, S. Narinder Singh Khalsa, Farooq Ahmed Khatana, Mohd. Shafi, Ch. Atta Mohd., Dr. Mushtaq, Gouri Shanker Suryavansi, L. Parcha, and many others.

Democracy and Fundamental Rights
