Dr. Bharat Bhushan Attends Two-Day National Legislators Workshop on Sustainable Rural Development

New Delhi, 10-07-2026: A two-day National Workshop for State Legislators was conducted in New Delhi on 9th & 10th July on Agriculture, Land & Water.  According to M.R. Madhavan, President of PRS Legislative Research, a New Delhi-based non-political body, about 125 MLAs & MLCs of different states and Union Territories of the country had consented to participate, out of which 85 legislators, including five from J&K, attended the workshop.

Mr. Waheed Ur Rehman Parra – MLA Pulwama, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA Kathua, Advocate Saif-ud-Din Bhat, MLA Khan Sahib, Advocate Irfan Hafiz Lone, MLA Wagoora-Kreeri, and Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, MLA Budgam, attended the two-day workshop.

MLA Kathua apprised that eminent scientists having vast experience in sustainable rural development, pollution control, pest management, Agriculture, Genetically modified crops, gene editing in agriculture and agricultural marketing comprising of K.C. Bansal, former Director, National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Alok Sikka, Emeritus Scientist, International water Management Institute, Dr. Ritambhara Singh, Associate Professor, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, DR. Mekhala Krishnamurthy, Associate Professor of Sociology & Anthropology Ashoka University Apoorve Khandelwal, Fellow Council on Energy, Environment & Water, Anirudh Barman, of XKDR Forum & experts of PRS Legislative Research were among those who delivered lecturers during the workshop & shared their valuable insights.

MLAs & MLCs from Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Mizorram, Tripura, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Telangana & Sikkim participated in the workshop.
