Banihal, 3rd November 2021: To inspect the ongoing work and overall progress viz. implementation of Banihal Beekeeping Cluster, Dr.Hina Shafi Bhat Vice-Chairperson J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), today visited Common Facility Centre of the said cluster. Besides associated beekeepers and stakeholders from the cluster area, Sh. Muzaffar Nasir Allaqband Dy. CEO P/R, Sh. Tilak Raj Divisional officer Jammu, Sh. K. Sanjeev Dogra COO J&K ITCO (TA) also accompanied Vice-Chairperson. Highlighting the slow progress in the execution of civil works, VC J&K KVIB advised the representative of Implementing Agency to gear up and ensure that clusters are implemented in a time-bound manner.

Vice Chairperson, also interacted with Public Representatives of the area, beekeepers, and other stakeholders. Referring to the main objective of the said cluster, Vice-Chairperson said that with the establishment of this cluster, the earnings of beekeepers of Ramban district shall increase, besides raising the profit margin and productivity and production of honey in the district. She added that the cluster is coming up with a project cost of Rs. 138.10 lacs and its CFC shall house Honey Processing Plant, and other relevant machines and equipment. The facilities of honey extraction, processing, packing, labeling, and marketing shall be provided to beekeepers of the area under one roof.
She underscored the need for coordinated and synchronized efforts from stakeholders to ensure target-oriented and objective implementation of the said cluster. She also stressed upon the unemployed youth to take benefits of other employment Schemes like PMEGP and JKREGP being implemented by J&K KVIB to eradicate the menace of unemployment by establishing self-employment ventures.
Later on, Vice-Chairperson also visited various micro industries units established under PMEGP and JKREGP in the Banihal area of Ramban. She was satisfied with the overall status of the units; he, however, underlined the need for penetration in remote areas through the organization of localized awareness and sensitization campaigns.
