Jammu:13-01-23: Coordinator Jammu District Urban and Zonal Secretary JKNC, Dr Vikas Sharma has expressed strong resentment over the erratic power supply and unscheduled power cuts in the entire J&K daily as routine cuts, particularly on the occasion of Lohri Festival.
Dr Vikas slammed LG administration and PDD authorities for mismanagement of power supply position in J&K despite its loud promises and held present Govt responsible for the prevailing mess. He said, “People were celebrating the Lohri and the government was hell bent to spoil the festivities due to poor power management. It is disgusting and unpardonable, he added.
He said today on the occasion of Lohri Festival, which is celebrated in Jammu Division once in a year , UT Govt had no power to supply uninterruptedly at least on local festival and PDD Deptt functioning under the LG Administration is totally unmindful about the needs and sentiments of general public celebrating Lohri without power on this pious day, he added.
Opposing the action of UT Govt to issue power cut schedule on daily basis for eight hours in whole Jammu Division, he pointed out that the anti public act of the UT Govt has landed the consumers in a state of severe distress in chilly cold weather, Dr Vikas said, adding that sorry state of affairs prevailing in the power sector of Jammu and Kashmir speaks volumes about mismanagement, failure and wastage of Govt resources as well as public money, he rued.
Dr. Vikas Sharma also lambasted the authorities and urged the LG administration to get out of hibernation and take stern action against those in PDD who have made the people suffer in this harsh winter, although the majority of consumers have been paying electricity bills on a regular basis.
