Due to a landslide at Ramban, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is closed.

16 January:   Due to a landslide in Ramban district, the national highway between Jammu and Srinagar was closed to traffic on Monday, leaving hundreds of vehicles stuck, according to an official.
The landslide in the Pantiyal area shut down the 270-km highway, which connects Kashmir with the rest of the nation and is the only all-weather route. They said that stone shooting had destroyed an iron tunnel that had been erected at this location to ease traffic.

They said that incidents of stone shooting had occurred in various parts of the Ramban sector.
Due to the shutdown, hundreds of heavy and light motor vehicles are stuck at various spots along the roadway. To clean up the area, personnel and equipment have been sent in.
