JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 24: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary today inaugurated the World Pharmacist Day celebrations at Madr-e-Meharban Campus of Health Sciences of Prabha Harjilal College of Pharmacy Jammu.
While addressing the gathering, the Deputy CM lauded the role of the pharmacists in the healthcare delivery for the ailing patients and reminded the students of the college about the expectations of patients from them as members of healing team.
The Deputy CM also paid tributes to the services rendered by pharmacists along with doctors on the warfront against covid pandemic when everyone else was hiding in the safety of their homes. He appreciated the pharmacists for their crucial role in building healthier communities and contribution to stronger, more sustainable health system.
He further advised the students study with full mettle and fulfil the aspirations of parents.
The Deputy CM assured the students that Omar led government is committed to provide employment to the youth of the region and is working tirelessly to open new avenues for them.
Complimenting the management of Madr-e-Meharban of Health Sciences, the Deputy CM assured the college of full support from the government.
Director of the College, Professor R.K Raina, while presenting vote of thanks, informed the gathering that various other sessions were organised to mark the celebrations of World Pharmacists Day which included pre-inauguration of scientific session on Herbal Drug Development programme.
Experts from different advanced centres like Dean Applied Sciences, University of Kashmir Professor ZA Bhat; Senior Scientist at Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine Jammu Dr Praun Kumar Gupta; and Principal JSS College of Pharmacy Najwal Professor Duriaswamy also spoke on the occasion and enlightened the gathering about various advancements in pharmacy.
