EAM Jaishankar Meets Airbus, IndiGo Leaders to Strengthen India-Europe Aviation Links

High-level talks in New Delhi highlight India’s aviation growth, technology partnerships, and sustainability goals.

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu held a high-level meeting with the Board of Directors of Airbus and senior management of IndiGo, focusing on strengthening India’s civil aviation sector and expanding India-Europe economic ties.

The discussions in New Delhi centred on India’s ongoing infrastructure, economic, and governance transformations, with both ministers emphasizing the opportunities these present for global aviation stakeholders.

“Pleased to interact with the Board of Directors of Airbus and Senior Management of IndiGo alongside my cabinet colleague Ram Mohan Naidu,” Jaishankar posted on X. “Had a fruitful interaction on infrastructure, economic and governance transformations underway in India, as well as growing India-Europe connect. And the opportunities they enable for growth of India’s civil aviation sector.”

With passenger traffic surging and airport infrastructure expanding, India is emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets. Airbus and IndiGo, both critical players in the ecosystem, are expected to play a pivotal role in this growth trajectory.

Officials said the talks also touched on technology transfer, manufacturing partnerships, and sustainability initiatives, aligning with India’s goals of self-reliance and green aviation.
