Joint ED, IT, and CBI Raids Target Meat Export Business in Sambhal

Bihar / UP, Oct 14: In a major crackdown on alleged financial irregularities in the meat export sector, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax Department (IT), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted coordinated raids in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday morning.

The operation targeted Haji Imran and Haji Irfan, owners of Indian Frozen Foods, whose meat export business reportedly generates over Rs 1,000 crore annually across multiple states, including Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

Over 100 officers arrived in a convoy of 70 vehicles around 6 am, simultaneously raiding the residences and factories of the brothers. Key locations included Haji Irfan’s residence in Bhura locality of Sarai Tarin, the Indian Frozen Foods factory in Chimiyawali village, and homes of four company employees. The Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) was deployed to maintain security during the high-profile operation.

The teams, reportedly from Delhi, are investigating potential financial irregularities and regulatory violations. Further details on arrests or seizure of assets have not yet been released, as the raids continue.
