18-09-2023 : The government of Jammu and Kashmir has taken a significant administrative step by ordering the deputation of eight officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) to the Union Territory of Ladakh. This decision, which comes into effect immediately, has been made in the interest of enhancing the administration in Ladakh.
The official order reads, “In the interest of administration, the services of the following officers are hereby placed at the disposal of the Union territory of Ladakh, on deputation basis, with immediate effect.” This move reflects the government’s commitment to optimizing the utilization of administrative resources and expertise to effectively address the needs and demands of Ladakh as a Union Territory.
The eight JKAS officers selected for deputation to Ladakh are as follows:

- Syed Sajad Qadri, JKAS, Programme Officer, ICDS Project, Budgam.
- Sandeep Singh, Junior Scale JKAS, Block Development Officer (BDO), Batote, Ramban.
- Vishal Atri, Junior Scale JKAS, BDO, Narsoo, Udhampur.
- Anjil Singh, Junior Scale JKAS, BDO, Nagseni, Kishtwar.
- Imtisaal Rasool, Junior Scale JKAS, BDO, Ganderbal.
- Tufail Iqbal, Junior Scale JKAS, BDO, Sagam, Anantnag.
- Waseem Ramzan, Junior Scale JKAS, BDO, Rajwar Zachaldara, Kupwara.
- Sanjat Bhardwaj, Junior Scale JKAS, BDO, Khellani, Doda.
The deputation of these officers is slated to last for a period of two years, or until they are recalled, whichever comes first. During their deputation, their lien and promotion prospects will remain with the General Administration Department of Jammu and Kashmir. This ensures that their career progression remains intact even as they serve in Ladakh.
Furthermore, the officers deputed to Ladakh will be entitled to avail incentives as they become available during the course of their assignment. They are considered relieved from their previous positions with immediate effect and are directed to report to the General Administration Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh for their next postings.
