India, March 28 – The Tamil Nadu government has implemented the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) directive by transferring four senior IPS officers from Chennai to various district postings.
According to an official statement, G Jawahar, Superintendent of Police (CB-CID) Chennai, has been transferred to Kancheepuram district as its new SP. Enforcement SP K Prabakar has been reassigned to Perambalur, while E Sundaravathanam, SP of Q Branch CID, will now serve in Thanjavur. Additionally, A Myilvaganan, SP of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption southern range, has been posted to Tenkasi district.
The transfers aim to ensure impartiality and smooth conduct of electoral processes in the state, in line with the ECI’s guidelines for administrative neutrality during elections.
