Bihar, Oct 13 : The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday officially issued the notification for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, covering 122 constituencies. The announcement formally initiates the process for candidates to file their nominations ahead of the November 11 polling.
Alongside Bihar, the ECI has also notified eight Assembly by-elections across seven states and Union Territories, which will be held concurrently on November 11. The regions include Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Telangana, Punjab, Mizoram, and Odisha.
The last date for filing nominations is October 20, while candidates can withdraw by October 23. Counting of votes for both Bihar Assembly elections and the bypolls is scheduled for November 14.
To ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process, the Election Commission has deployed around 8.5 lakh officials across Bihar.
