Elon Musk Participates in High-Level Trump-Modi Phone Discussion: Report

Billionaire's presence marks a rare involvement of a private citizen in high-level diplomatic talks.

WASHINGTON, Mar 28: Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk reportedly participated in a phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this week, according to the New York Times.

The call, held on Tuesday, focused on the escalating conflict with Iran and marked the first direct interaction between the two leaders since the US and Israel carried out military strikes on February 28. Musk’s participation is notable, as it is uncommon for a private citizen to join discussions between heads of state during an international crisis.

“President Trump has a great relationship with Prime Minister Modi, and this was a productive conversation,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement to news agencies.

The New York Times cited unnamed US officials confirming Musk’s inclusion, suggesting the billionaire may have restored his rapport with the former president following their fallout last year, which occurred after Musk left a government role focused on workforce reductions.

It remains unclear why Musk was included in the call or whether he contributed to the discussion, but his presence underscores his continued influence in political and strategic circles.
