Hyderabad, June 13: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday emphasized the need for India’s future military leaders to remain prepared for rapidly changing security challenges, stating that advances in technology are transforming the character of conflicts across the world.
Addressing the Combined Graduation Parade at the Indian Air Force Academy in Hyderabad, Singh said traditional assumptions about military superiority are being challenged as technological innovation enables even smaller nations and non-traditional actors to create significant strategic impact.
He noted that modern conflicts are no longer determined solely by the size of armed forces or conventional military strength. Emerging technologies, precision systems and innovative operational strategies have created a new security environment in which agility and adaptability play a decisive role.
The Defence Minister urged the graduating officers to develop the mindset required to respond to diverse and unpredictable threats. According to him, the future battlespace will demand constant readiness, professional excellence and the ability to operate effectively in complex situations.
Singh highlighted that evolving technologies have fundamentally changed the nature of warfare, making it essential for military personnel to remain updated with advancements shaping contemporary defence operations. He stressed that preparedness today extends beyond physical training and includes understanding technological developments and emerging security trends.
Congratulating the newly commissioned officers, the Defence Minister paid special tribute to the women pilots joining the Indian Air Force. He said their induction reflects the growing strength of gender inclusivity within the armed forces and contributes to building a more capable and balanced force structure.
He observed that the increasing participation of women in key operational roles demonstrates India’s commitment to equal opportunities and strengthens the overall effectiveness of the military.
The Defence Minister also praised the Indian Air Force for its remarkable performance during critical rescue and evacuation missions, both within the country and abroad. He said the force has consistently displayed professionalism, courage and humanitarian values while responding to crises and emergencies.
Referring to various international evacuation and relief operations, Singh said the Indian Air Force has earned global recognition for safeguarding lives and extending assistance to people affected by conflicts, disasters and emergencies. Such missions, he added, reflect India’s civilizational values of compassion and service to humanity.
The Combined Graduation Parade marked another important milestone in the careers of young officers entering military service. Singh expressed confidence that the graduates would uphold the highest traditions of the armed forces and contribute to strengthening national security in an increasingly dynamic global environment.
He encouraged the officers to embrace innovation, maintain discipline and remain committed to serving the nation with dedication and professionalism throughout their careers.
