Employees posted in Kashmir have pens and not guns, their security is govts concern

Jammu, 31.05.22: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations condemns the killing of Ms. Rajni Devi, an employee of the J&K government posted in Kashmir Valley. She is survived by her husband, Raj Kumar, and a young daughter.

RK Kalsotra, State President Confederation, offered his condolences to the family and demanded compensation for the irreplaceable loss incurred to the family and immediate transfer of the family back to their home district where they can grieve the loss and can continue the work there.

Kalsotra expressed these concerns to the Chief Secretary, J&K, in a candid conversation and said that the inter-district recruitment policy should be revised and already vulnerable sections shouldn’t be posted on far-flung areas where it becomes a threat to their lives as they are only acquainted with pens and not guns. Moreover, he also said that until the situation is not stable in the valley, these employees should be allowed to teach in the online mode. Through Press, Statement Kalsotra reminded to LG. CS, Addl CS Home & DGP to firstly control the situation in the valley and until then put off the duties of outsiders employees and start online work for time being.

It is also a concern about the well being and security of these people and changes in public policy programmes would be required to deal with these issues and thus, he requested the administration to take an immediate call on the issue and set in place a new policy which works in favour of all those employees of Jammu who are posted in Kashmir.
