EOW Kashmir Busts Fake Job Racket, Chargesheet Filed Against Man Posing as Govt Officer

Accused allegedly duped complainant of lakhs of rupees by promising government jobs.

SRINAGAR, Dec 31: In a significant action against employment fraud, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet in a fake job scam case, where a man allegedly cheated a complainant of lakhs of rupees by claiming he could secure government employment.

The chargesheet has been submitted before the Hon’ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam, in connection with FIR No. 13/2023 under Section 420 of the IPC against Ghulam Nabi Hudda, son of Mohammad Hudda, resident of Satakchay, Kargil, presently at Gasiyar Hawal, Zadibal, Srinagar.

According to the complaint, in 2021, the accused falsely represented himself as a senior government official and assured the complainant and others of government job placements in exchange for monetary consideration. Based on these assurances, the complainant transferred lakhs of rupees to the accused’s bank account in nine instalments. However, the accused neither arranged the promised employment nor returned the money.

Following the complaint, EOW Kashmir conducted a detailed investigation, which revealed that the accused had intentionally deceived the complainant, resulting in wrongful financial loss. The acts of the accused were found to constitute an offence under Section 420 IPC.

The chargesheet has now been filed for judicial adjudication, bringing the case one step closer to legal resolution.
