Mumbai, May 03 : Ethiopia officially launched construction work on the massive Bishoftu International Airport project, expected to become Africa’s largest aviation hub.
The airport, estimated to cost more than 12 billion dollars, is designed to handle tens of millions of passengers annually once operational.
Officials said the project will significantly boost regional tourism, cargo transport, and international connectivity across Africa. Ethiopian Airlines also described the development as a strategic investment for future global aviation growth.
Infrastructure experts believe the project could transform Ethiopia into one of the continent’s leading transport and logistics centres.
