Guwahati: The former Chief Justice of India Mr. Ranjan Gogoi, who was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the BJP-led government in March, is the only member in the Upper House who does not take salary or allowances. Instead, Gogoi opts to continue to avail of the retirement benefits which are being paid to him as a former CJI. This revelation came to light after the Rajya Sabha Secretariat responded to a Right to Information (RTI) query filed by India Today. Talking to the publication, Gogoi revealed this his monthly pension as a retired CJI is Rs. 82,301.
