Mumbai, Jan 29 : Bollywood director Farhan Akhtar has put the brakes on the much-anticipated Don 3, citing the need to find the “perfect Don” as he prioritizes casting. With Ranveer Singh stepping away from the project, Farhan is taking his time to ensure the iconic role is cast without compromise.
Meanwhile, the filmmaker is turning his attention to Jee Le Zaraa, a long-cherished road-trip film featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. Sources reveal that the script is ready and Farhan is eager to bring the project to life, but scheduling all three leading ladies remains the main challenge.
“If the dates align, filming could begin in the second half of 2026. Creatively, everything is set; it’s just about coordinating schedules,” an insider shared. Farhan has already resumed discussions with the trio, who are reportedly enthusiastic about the project.
Jee Le Zaraa will mark the reunion of the original team behind Dil Chahta Hai, including Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti, and is envisioned as the final chapter in their trilogy of friendship themed films.
