SRINAGAR, Apr 15: Farooq Abdullah, president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, on Wednesday delivered a strong message advocating peace, urging Pakistan to abandon its confrontational approach and recognise the futility of conflict.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an Army function held at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) in Rangreth, Abdullah emphasized that prolonged hostilities have yielded nothing but devastation.
He remarked that nations must learn from history and understand that continued aggression only deepens suffering without producing any meaningful outcomes. According to him, the time has come for Pakistan to reassess its stance and move toward peaceful coexistence.
Abdullah expressed hope that India’s neighbour would acknowledge the long-standing consequences of conflict and take steps to bring an end to tensions. He underlined that sustainable growth and stability in the region can only be achieved through dialogue and mutual understanding.
During his address, the veteran leader also extended his wishes for the success of the Army unit, praising their dedication and service. He added a broader appeal for global harmony, stating that peace across nations is essential for collective progress and prosperity.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir concluded by expressing his desire for a future free from wars, where cooperation replaces confrontation and development becomes the shared priority of all nations.
