Jammu : On Tuesday morning, a fire broke out in BK Chandrashekhar Walnut Industries in the industrial area, Bari Brahamana. In the factory, especially walnut work is done on a large scale. The fire was so severe that even fire tenders had to be called from Jammu to control it.
According to the information, a fire broke out in the factory under suspicious circumstances around 2.00 am on Tuesday. Soon the fire engulfed the entire factory. The factory workers informed the police and fire department about it. By the time fire tenders arrived, the fire had spread to the entire factory. Firefighters started extinguishing the fire, but the fire became so severe that it was difficult to control it. After that fire brigade were called from Jammu and about 5 to 6 fire tenders left from Jammu to douse the factory fire and after hours of effort, the fire was brought under control at 7 am. Despite that, the fire continued to blaze for hours.
After the fire was put out, it was observed that the plant had suffered widespread damage, including substantial damage to dry fruits and machinery. The action has begun with the registration of a case in this regard by the Bari Brahmana police.
The fire in the factory had taken such a severe form that three vehicles of the Bari Brahmana fire department could not control it. After that the police personnel also reached the spot and fire brigade vehicles were called from Samba. Altogether 9 to 10 vehicles brought the fire under control, but those vehicles again went to fill the water and came to extinguish the fire. The vehicles reached the spot only half an hour after the fire broke out. However, the cold store in the factory has not suffered much damage. The orgy of the fire is mostly due to the paper being cardboard.
