Poonch, May 5: In view of prevailing security concerns and the need to maintain public safety, the District Magistrate of Poonch, Vikas Kundal (IAS), has issued an order imposing a complete ban on the storage, sale, and use of firecrackers across the district with immediate effect. The prohibition will remain in force until further notice.
The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure amidst heightened security sensitivities in the region. Officials have expressed apprehensions that the sound and visual effects of firecrackers could cause unnecessary panic among residents or be misused to create confusion during sensitive situations. The order is aimed at preventing any potential exploitation of firecrackers for disruptive or malicious purposes.
