KOLKATA, May 26: India’s football ecosystem is receiving significant investment as state governments and private sports organisations accelerate efforts to improve infrastructure and youth development systems.
Several new academies and training facilities are being developed in West Bengal, Kerala, Goa and the Northeast. Sports administrators believe stronger grassroots programmes are essential for improving India’s international football performance.
The All India Football Federation is also focusing on women’s football development and international exposure tours for youth teams.
Experts say long-term investment in coaching quality and sports science could transform Indian football over the next decade.
