25-04-2023 : On Tuesday, Parkash Singh Badal, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, passed away at the age of 95 in a private hospital in Mohali. Badal was admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Mohali over a week ago due to difficulty breathing. Survived by his son and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief, Sukhbir Singh Badal, and daughter Parneet Kaur, who is married to former cabinet minister Adeish Partap Singh Kairon.
Badal had previously been hospitalized in June of last year due to gastritis and bronchial asthma. He also tested positive for COVID-19 in January of the same year and was hospitalized in Ludhiana. In February 2022, he underwent a post-Covid health examination at a private hospital in Mohali, which included cardiac and pulmonary check-ups. Recently, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had inquired about Badal’s health.
