- Congress to intensify statehood movement
Jammu, Oct. 06: JK Congress today intensified the signature campaign demanding a check on Vote Chori and seeking a free, fair and transparent electoral system in the country.
Joining the nationwide campaign of AICC against “Vote Chori”, the party decided to intensify the signature campaign, in a meeting of Senior Leaders, DCC Presidents, Frontal representatives, and functionaries of Blocks and DCCs here in Jammu today, which was presided over by Working President Shri Raman Bhalla and attended by several senior leaders. The meeting also decided to intensify the statehood campaign, which was suspended due to the devastation caused by heavy rains and floods. The meeting passed a resolution in this regard to intensify Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq.
The party organized a meeting of party functionaries to apprise them to intensify the campaign, which is on the last leg in the country and will conclude all over India in next week.
The meeting decided to intensify the campaign for one week and submit the signatures to the PCC for onward submission to AICC for further course of action.
Addressing the gathering Shri Raman Bhalla said that LOP Shri Rahul Gandhi has exposed large-scale irregularities and illegalities in the entire election system, right from voter list and started a signature campaign against it in order to check the ‘ Vote Chori’ and to seek to ensure a free, fair and transparent election process in the country.
He said that the right to vote is the most precious right in a democracy, and the free, fair and transparent election process is the backbone of the democratic system. He said
that the fight of congress party and Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji is the safeguard the most important right of the citizens of this country and to protect democracy and the Constitution.
He appealed all right-thinking people to join this campaign of Shri Rahul Gandhi in order to protect their precious right.
He asked all party functionaries and workers to intensify this campaign in the last week I order to contribute to the struggle of Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji.
He also asked the party functionaries to restart and intensify the statehood struggle which was stopped due to heavy rains and floods. The party has also sought deferment in the vote chor campaign and now started on October 0 2, “Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti”.
All senior leaders stressed for maximum coverage in the last week to submit signatures to the AICC. It will be a late participation of J&K in this campaign but we are part of this campaign against vote chori by Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji. The party workers have been asked to gear up for the statehood struggle
